A quiet campsite on the Charente Maritime coast

Through the years, Saint-Palais-sur-Mer has remained a calm yet dynamic holiday resort. Its gentle way of life makes it a choice destination in any season for weekends or short breaks with the family. In the summer, Saint-Palais-sur-Mer becomes a very lively seaside resort, with a wide choice of events and activities.

• Our campsite is ideally situated between beaches, forests and the very lively seaside resort of Saint-Palais-sur-Mer and offers many possibilities:

• Enjoy cycling on trails directly from the campsite to the several kilometres long wild beach of “La Grande Côte” and pine-forest of “La Coubre”, and as far as the small seaside resort of Ronce-les Bains.
• From the gate of the campsite, facing the Atlantic Ocean, follow the coastal footpath called “Chemin des douaniers”. The “Customs Officers” pedestrian way will lead you to the resort of Saint-Palais-sur-Mer and even further!
• Angling from the rocky edge of the coast just opposite the campsite.

• A wide choice of discoveries:

• Visit one of Europe’s most well-known animal parks: the "La Palmyre Zoo", (only 10-minute drive from the campsite). This family outing offers visitors the opportunity to observe more than 1600 animals from all the continents in a beautiful environment.
• Go sightseeing to the charming typical village and harbour of Mornac with its picturesque narrow streets, art galleries and craft-shops amidst the Seudre river marshes and oyster beds and is only 15 minutes’ drive away.
• Fond of tremendous sea views, big skies and light, discover the famous “Cordouan Ligthouse“, an exceptional historic monument.

• Many sports activities are available at Saint-Palais-sur-Mer:

• Contact the French Sailing School or practise individual sailing, windsurfing, body boarding, land sailing and kite surfing.
• Go horse-riding at the “Maine Gaudin Horse-Riding Club” (1km) or play golf at the “Maine Gaudin Golf Course”, 18 holes golf course close to the campsite.

• Evening life:

• At the end of the day, how about watching the sun set into the ocean, whilst having a drink at the cafés or tasting seafood specialities, from “moules- frites”, to pancakes and homemade ice cream in restaurants of “La Grande Côte” beach, just nearby or even down town in St Palais sur Mer. It is really gorgeous!
• Discos, cafés, night-market and free entertainment are some of the many opportunities in which to end your evenings in a pleasant way.
